Fan Appreciation Event at Raceworld USA: May 20th: 11am-1pm
It’s time for Fan Appreciation Day at Raceworld USA and this year it is bigger and better! We are holding the event as a big thank you to all of our fans and we are pleased the JTG-Daugherty Racing team is joining us to celebrate your continued support of our teams and sponsors. So, we want to welcome all of you to Raceworld USA on Wednesday, May 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
David Reutimann, Marcos Ambrose, Scott Speed, Ryan Truex, Michael McDowell and I will be on site to welcome everyone and sign autographs for the two hours (300 wristbands to be distributed – details below). Many of our partners will be on site with displays, show cars, giveaways…there will be something for everyone. We will also have food and beverages available.
After fans receive autographs, they can tour the 140,000 sq. ft. facility, which I am most proud of. Fans that have not been to Raceworld USA will be surprised at the accessibility and all it has to offer. You can take full advantage of an all-access tour and see the evolution of a race car from start to finish (for a nominal fee-see below). Literally, you can see the team start with a chassis in the fabrication shop and follow the manufacturing process through the finished product in the assembly room. You will be able to look into each room which supports that effort including; the fabrication shop, machine shop, gear and transmission assembly shop, shock and spring room, pull-down rig area, paint booth, final race car assembly area and the truck bay. You may even be able to see the cars as they are being loaded to head for the race track.
Our pit stop practice area is really cool and provides another unique element in which fans can watch our over-the-wall crews practice. There are interactive exhibits throughout Raceworld as well as an HD movie theatre where fans can watch a movie documenting team preparation for each race weekend. Don’t forget to stop by our retail store in the front lobby area where you will find some neat souvenirs and apparel that will make your visit to Raceworld complete.
The first 300 people that stop by for wristbands for autographs will also receive goody bags. Also, anyone that signs up for the tour and makes a pet food donation for a dog or cat will receive $2 off the price of admission. In addition, a portion of the proceeds collected from tours during the day will go to the Animal Adoption League (www.mynextpet.com).
With all of that being said, I look forward to saying hello to each and every one of you during race week.
See you there!
Sincerely,
Michael Waltrip

My husband and I are coming in from San Antonio, TX to see the All-Star Race and Coke 600. This offer of a Fan Day at MWR just made my trip complete. I hope I can get a wristband on Tuesday. I've got it on my calendar of events.
