MICHAEL WALTRIP RACING FAN APPRECIATION DAY WEDNESDAY MAY 26

CORNELIUS, N.C. - Michael Waltrip Racing will hold its annual Fan Appreciation Day on Wednesday May 26 at NASCAR’s most interactive race shop in Cornelius, N.C.

MWR drivers David Reutimann, Martin Truex Jr. and JTG Daugherty driver Marcos Ambrose plus Nationwide drivers Trevor Bayne and Ryan Truex will join co-owner Michael Waltrip to sign autographs. There are a variety of activities scheduled including show car displays, pit stop practices, games, musical entertainment and food from Mac’s Speed Shop.

Team business partners plan to bring interactive displays and fan giveaways. The Waltrip Brothers Charity Golf Tournament will also conduct a silent auction featuring racing memorabilia beginning Monday.

"It's very important for Michael Waltrip Racing to show all our fans what their support means to us," said Waltrip. "Everyone here realizes that the fans are the reason we are where we are today. It's our turn to return the favor and invite them for a fun time at our race shop.”

Reutimann and Bayne will sign autographs 4-5 p.m. then Waltrip, both Truexes and Ambrose will sign 6-7 p.m. 

“It’s amazing how many people show up here in the Charlotte area for that race and a large portion of those folks come to the race shop because it’s so different and so unique,” Reutimann said.

“Michael Waltrip Racing has so much to offer as far as what fans can actually see and be a part of. Fan Appreciation Day is actually a really big day. We always get a good turn out with a lot of people and a lot of excitement. We have  a good time doing it.”

Michael Waltrip Racing is at exit 28 on I-77 in Cornelius, N.C. about 15 miles north of Charlotte, N.C. The team’s race shop and gift shop will be open to the public throughout the day.
