Race car engineering legend Steve Hallam is to be honoured by a university for his work in the field.
Hallam, who worked in Formula 1 from 1982 to 2008 with Lotus and then McLaren, is to receive the degree of Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Huddersfield, which has a globally respected automotive engineering department.
The honour will be conferred at a ceremony on Monday 12 July.
In 2009 Hallam moved to NASCAR and is currently executive vice president and director of competition at Michael Waltrip Racing
