MWR Sprint All-Star Race and Sprint Showdown Qualifying Report

Sprint Cup Series qualifying for both the Sprint All-Star Race and Sprint Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway were cancelled due to rain. Qualifying for both events was set based on random qualifying draw. Kurt Busch was awarded the pole position in the Sprint All-Star Race and David Ragan was awarded the pole position for the Sprint Showdown. Michael Waltrip Racing drivers will start as follows:


Sprint All-Star Qualifying
• David Reutimann, Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry - starts 6th based on draw

Sprint Showdown Qualifying
• Martin Truex Jr., No. 56 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry - starts 20th based on draw

Other Sprint Showdown drivers on note include:
• Michael Waltrip, No. 55 Red Rocks Café/Tech South, Inc. Toyota Camry - starts 13th based on draw
• Marcos Ambrose, No. 47 Cavalia Toyota Camry—starts 19th based on draw

Saturday night’s running of the Sprint Showdown gets underway on SPEED TV, MRN Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio 128 starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Sprint All-Star Race will follow the Sprint Showdown and start at approximately 9 p.m.
